Buyer Summary
Use this guide when a brand plans to sell a custom canvas pouch through its website, sports retailers, beauty stores or gift channels. Retail packing should be confirmed with the sewn pouch sample: tissue, swing tag, poly bag, carton count, barcode or label route, and delivery-market requirements.
Retail packing is part of the RFQ, not an afterthought
A custom canvas pouch can be well made but still feel unfinished if the buyer adds tags, tissue and poly bags too late. Packing affects carton size, labor route, label placement, warehouse receiving and the first impression when the customer opens the parcel.
If the product enters retail, barcode or SKU planning should be discussed early. GS1 barcode planning1 can support barcode planning, while the buyer should confirm its final retail or warehouse requirements.
Choose packing by sales channel
Tissue, swing tags and poly bags each answer a different question
Tissue paper
Improves unboxing and surface protection. Confirm plain, printed, folded or wrapped route before carton planning.
Swing tags
Carry brand, product, barcode or care information. Confirm tag size, paper, hole position and string route.
Poly bags
Protect during transit and warehouse handling. Confirm individual bag, warning text, sticker label and carton count.
Color and printed components should still be checked against the approved pouch sample. Pantone color workflow2 can support color references across fabric, paper tags and printed tissue.

Less suitable
