How to discuss recycled paperboard without overclaiming
A buyer may ask for a recycled insert because the gift set needs a cleaner material story. The supplier still needs to separate three things: the physical insert material, the document support available for that material, and the wording the brand plans to use in public packaging or retail content.
The safer public language is project-specific. Instead of promising a blanket certification claim, ask what document the buyer needs, which market the set will enter and whether the outer box, insert and printed sleeve all need the same route. This protects the buyer from approving wording that the final material route cannot support.
In sample review, the buyer should check the physical pack-out and document wording together. If the material route changes during sampling, the document support and public wording may also need to be reviewed again.
