Cosmetic Bags / Materials
Use this guide when a beauty or jewelry brand is choosing between velvet, canvas, rPET, PU and cotton pouch routes. The right material is the one that fits the launch use, logo method, target price, document needs and sample approval path.

Buyer Summary
Cosmetic pouch material selection should start from use case and target price, not only a material name. Velvet supports premium handfeel, canvas and cotton support softer natural positioning, rPET supports recycled-content document conversations where the route allows, and PU can support structured wipeable cases. Sewn pouches should normally be planned from MOQ 500. The brief should include quantity, color, logo method, zipper or drawstring route, lining, packing and sample deadline.

Start with the buyer task, not the fabric name
A cosmetic pouch for a GWP campaign, a retail travel pouch and a jewelry pouch can all use similar materials, but they do not solve the same buyer problem. The first question is whether the pouch needs to feel premium, hold shape, fold flat, protect bottles, show a logo clearly or support a document conversation.
Ecoicolor can review material swatches and sample routes, but the buyer should give Vivi the target price and use case early. Otherwise the material list becomes a decoration exercise instead of a quotable RFQ.
Material routes and where they fit

For recycled or preferred-fiber discussions, use official standards and document context rather than broad claims. Textile Exchange resources can help teams understand certification vocabulary, but each Ecoicolor project still needs material-route confirmation. Textile Exchange standards context1
The decision table for pouch material selection
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 can be part of material-testing document context when the material route supports it, but it should not be presented as an automatic promise for every pouch. OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 context2
Logo method, zipper and lining can matter more than the fabric
Why the sample should test the whole pouch
A buyer may like a velvet or rPET swatch but dislike how the logo sits on the finished pouch. Logo method, zipper pull, lining color, seam allowance and pouch depth can change the sample more than the base material. That is why Vivi needs both the material direction and the usage details before quoting.
If the pouch will be used in retail packs, barcode or label planning may also be needed before artwork approval. GS1 barcode resources4

Best fit and less suitable inquiries
Best fit
Beauty, skincare, fragrance or jewelry buyers planning MOQ 500+ sewn pouch projects with target price, logo file, color direction, sample deadline and launch timing.
Less suitable

RFQ sequence before sampling
- Define use case: GWP, retail pouch, travel kit, jewelry pouch or fragrance case.
- Choose two or three candidate materials based on handfeel, target price and logo method.
- Request swatches or a sample route before bulk approval.
- Confirm MOQ 500, color, zipper or drawstring, label, packing and carton needs.
FAQ
What MOQ should cosmetic pouch buyers expect?
Sewn pouches, cosmetic bags and drawstring bags should normally be planned from MOQ 500.
Which material is best for a premium cosmetic pouch?
Velvet, PU and selected structured fabrics can support premium presentation, but the best route depends on handfeel, logo method, target price and product use.
Can Ecoicolor support rPET or document-related material requests?
Ecoicolor can review rPET or document-support needs by project. The buyer should state the requested document scope before sampling.
Should buyers request swatches before a full sample?
Yes, when material handfeel or color is uncertain. Swatches can narrow the route before a full logo sample.
What should the RFQ include?
Include pouch size, quantity, material direction, logo method, color reference, zipper or drawstring route, lining, packing, target price, ship-to country and sample deadline.
